I got a bracket to fit a rear light to a rack some time ago, like this one:-
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Hebie-Hebie-ARC-J82S-SL-Universal-Rack-Fitting-Light-Bracket-575.htm
unfortunately the instructions that came with it were little better than useless.  OK it fits onto the rack easily enough, but I cannot see how a Cateye rear light will fit to this bracket.
Anybody else use one of these?  Any tips, or better still a photo of a light fitted would be useful.
Thanks.

There's one fitted to a bike in the picture at this link ...

Didn't your Cateye rear light originally come with its own bracket?
I have a Cateye rear light and mine came with something like the one listed below.

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Cateye-Cateye-Bracket-Support-544-0980-for-TL-LD-100-110-120-500-600-AE100-4504.htm

If you bolt that to your Hebie bracket mounted to the back cross rail of your carrier, that could work.

Thanks for the replies, useful food for thought.

The bracket at SJSC looks interesting. I have a TL-LD 1100 which is not listed in the description of the bracket, however I cannot trace the existence of a TL-LD 110 either!  I wonder ... maybe next time I am ordering stuff from SJSC I might add that in since it doesn't cost too much.

Some time ago I did buy a Tubus Vega rack using Cateye part CA5342250 to attach the light, however the Tubus is very very high above the rear mudguard, and with it's narrow width a laden saddle bag becomes a bit unstable, and frankly it looks ridiculous.

I am currently using the B&M light bracket,
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Busch-and-Muller-Busch-and-Muller-Rear-Carrier-Light-Bracket-for-D-Toplight-Light-583.htm
but it is untidy, the hebie bracket would be neat if the cateye bracket works with the TL-LD 1100.  I will update sometime if that works.
