Press Release: Sean Conway

Sean Conway is a man on a mission. On February 18th 2012, he will be setting off from Greenwich, London, as part of The Global Bike Race in a bid to become the fastest man ever to cycle solo and unsupported around the world.

Sean is using the Global Bike race as an opportunity to try and raise £100,000 for SolarAid, a charity which is helping some of Africa’s poorest people gain access to solar power. As the use of traditional fuels to light homes in Africa kills more people each year than Malaria, giving those people an alternative is something which is vital.

Sean Conway is back on his bike (!) bless 'im, and riding, once again making daily progress after being rear-ended by a truck in Arkansas.

See: https://www.facebook.com/CyclingTheEarth
...and...

On 25 April, he announced he is ending his US leg early and heading for Australia soonest. Leaving US with mixed feelings, and no wonder.

Sean Conway has now written an e-book, with an interesting picture of him on his Mercury with a passenger!

My! Jim, you do have a talent for understatement!

Thanks for spotting this. The e-book, I mean.

All the best,

Dan. (I remember Andre's comments about covers helping to sell books...)

just been  looking at some of his videos on utube he sure is one hell of a cyclist, but his set as regarding carry his gear is crazy it's all over the bike, he should have gone for rear panniers.
Mark Beaumont set up was great carried everything in 4 panniers . Wink

is there an irish connection there i wonder he has the irish flag on his rear stay.
