Recommend me a chainset please

Hi folks,my xt chainset on my xtc is worn out and i was looking for a quite cheap but long lasting replacement,any ideas please?

Relatively cheap, long-lasting, yet still good quality? How 'bout a standard Deore? I chose that option on my Sherpa precisely because it offered such great value for the money, and had steel inner- and middle-rings, which should be long-lived -- especially in the sandy, gritty desert environments where I often travel. It has a nice appearance that belies its (relatively) bargain price. Spare 'rings are readily available for a good price too, so if the combinations that are available fit your needs it might be worth a look. Keep in mind, it requires an external bottom bracket as well.

The spa cycles for square taper is excellent value at that retail price, for a bit lighter and external BB cups, albeit not in the shimano or campag format but just as good https://www.greyville.com/products/6577-s0030-sr-suntour-cw-xcr-v2-t424-fxs-chainset?store_referer=true I fit these as the replacement for the higher end FSA and Shimano MTB triples, no complaints and they are long lasting.

I've had good experience shopping with http://www.xxcycle.com. The Stronglight Impact cranksets they sell are a better finished version of the Spa cycles house brand; both are Sugino (RD2 I think).

But here's a hot tip: I ordered what I thought from the illustration was the Stronglight Impact Double/Sugino RD2, hot forged, nice enough but very common on top-end bikes, and received instead the rare, beautiful and altogether wonderful Stronglight Impact Compact, which is a relabelled cold-forged Sugino Cospea, a different beast altogether (same measurements and tread though). Though I wanted only the cranks as I was fitting a single Surly stainless steel chainrings to go with my Rohloff, the crankset came with excellent lathed chainrings. (I'll sell them cheap later once I determine they aren't wanted on any of my bikes. They're better than any chainrings I've had before but it's a question of gearing.)

I think I am responsible for leaving the wrong impression, Andre, and I apologize. While I do own the equivalent of a Cospea on one of my other bikes, the polished crank you refer to in my photo is a Shimano Deore blank, CA 1989 that I milled, ball-cutter engraved, and then polished. The Cospea is a good reccie for a crank, though, and yours is a true beauty!
